Manchester’s vibrant culinary scene is set to expand with the introduction of House of Social, a new food hall slated to open in the First Street area during the summer of 2025. In collaboration with the Vita Group, this venture is spearheaded by Jake Atkinson, the former operations manager of renowned establishments Mackie Mayor and Altrincham Market.

    A New Culinary Destination

House of Social will occupy a 12,000-square-foot space over two design-led levels, featuring five independent kitchens. The venue aims to showcase a mix of beloved regional brands and an acclaimed London-based operator, offering a diverse range of culinary experiences.

    Leadership and Vision

Jake Atkinson brings a wealth of experience from his tenure at Mackie Mayor and Altrincham Market. He expressed enthusiasm about the project’s location and architectural features, stating, “It’s such an untapped location, we’ve got this beautiful building with loads of natural light from soaring arched windows and also some gorgeous interior details with that curving staircase – it’s going to have so much character.”

    Strategic Location

Situated in Manchester’s First Street development, House of Social will be adjacent to cultural hotspot HOME and within walking distance of both Oxford Road and Deansgate-Castlefield stations. This prime location positions it as a convenient destination for both locals and visitors seeking diverse dining options.

    Anticipated Opening

House of Social is scheduled to open its doors in the summer of 2025. As the opening date approaches, more details about the participating vendors and specific offerings are expected to be released, generating excitement among Manchester’s food enthusiasts.

    In Summary

The upcoming launch of House of Social reflects Manchester’s dynamic and evolving food culture. With its strategic location, experienced leadership, and diverse culinary offerings, it is poised to become a significant addition to the city’s gastronomic landscape.
